Flawless Dance Crew (Britain's Got Talent runner ups, 2009) have collaborated with female stars of the English National Ballet to create a spectacular show named 'Against Time'.
With the launch of the tour starting in London, tommorrow, on the 1st June it is not only the perfect way to kick off celebrations of the Queens Jubilee weekend, but to also celebrate being British. An opportunity for UK talent to truly shine and give us something to be truly proud of.
Often the quality of our diverse performing arts industry is overlooked, we walk in the shadows of our US counterparts and struggle to fight for the same levels of recognition.
It's time to support something quintessentially British and broaden our appreciation of two very different dance styles.
The show is set to change the way that many people perceive ballet and hip hop; to attract a diverse audience whom may never have appreciated the precision, beauty & skill of one style and only ever been likely to watch another.
In it's efforts to make ballet 'cool' amongst young adults and children whilst bringing hiphop to the view of an older or more reserved audience, choreographers Flawless and Jenna Lee have done an unbelievable job.
Having been able to witness their fantastic work myself at Move It! Convention 2012, I have to say that they have well and truly stepped into never-seen-before territory. Forget questioning how it works, it just does. It is a collaboration which goes together like cheese and pineapple sticks - it shouldn't be good, but it is!
So if you fancy doing something VERY British this weekend, this is the show to go and see. Link for tickets on the website below x
